It's growing at my aunt's house. We have no idea what it is. Any help would be appreciated.

There's probably various names for it like Walking Onion or Egyptian Onion. Instead of blooms and then seeds it sets onion sets on a stalk and when the stalk dries up and tips over all the sets take root where they land. You can also take them off and plant them where you like. They don't form much of a bulb so they are best to use for the green onion spikes in salads and stir fry.

Willseeyalater, it appears that your right. I've researched it and what you told me falls in line with descriptions of the Egyptian walking onion. Thank you.

We bought our home back in 1991 and the previous owners were gardeners and had them in a big patch. I asked him how long they had been growing and he couldn't remember. Now over twenty years later they still grow on the edge of the woods and on a couple of corners of our garden with no special attention. We use them when we need green onions. They get no cultivation and each spring after our MN winters they are one of the first things to sprout. Winner winner chicken dinner.
