I've only had 2 pre-production samples, not true prototypes, but it has me wondering what prototypes are in your collection.

Tell us about it. Fixed or folder, production or custom, given to you or purchased, did you know the maker, is there a story to it?

Photos are expected, of course.

This was Phillip Patton Phillip Patton 's first foray into Damasteel.. The compound grind was also not one of Phillip's usual type. I had it for 10 months now and I love it. I've loved his grinds since the first time I saw his work, so I was very excited when he took on this project for me!!!
So this is probably a first and last of this type!!!!!

His pictures, not mine because mine are.crap!!!!122920-1.JPG122920-2.JPG010321-1.JPG

I always enjoy seeing this one. A gorgeous knife for sure!

I have had a bunch but I think I’m down to just two left in the collection.

Here is my prototype Diskin Fire with the hand sculpted lightning strike carbon fiber:

And I also have a prototype Tashi Bharucha massdrop Heat Seeker, it’s the one on top, with the much closer set “vent” cutouts than the production version below it. It also has a slightly larger flipper tab which makes an enormous difference, since the production version cuts off the flipper tab right on the edge of the jimping and is uncomfortably sharp:

I have one of the new prototype (Beta Unit) Wicked Edge WE60 sharpening systems, but I can not show photos of it yet. Sorry.
