What replacement for Esee 4

The handles on my Esee 4 are just too short for my hands and I am thinking about selling or trading it for another knife with a 4 to 5 inch blade but with longer handles. The BK 16 is a good replacement but I already have one. I am thinking maybe the Esee Laserstrike or a Falkniven F1 but I would like the input of forum members. Thanks.

ESEE 4 is a great knife . If you looking for comfort on the hand look for the GSO4.1 or a Bark River . The F1 handle feels thinner than the ESEE 4 . Other great option is the Fallkniven S1 is a bigger knife .

The Bark River Aurora have indeed a long handle and this is very clear in Your pic!
Should be a good choice, when the user have bearpaws.

My vote would be a GSO 4.1 you can get some slightly blemished 4.1s right now for a nice price. Scrap yard knives like a 411 would also be a good replacement.

I guess my F1 (micarta handles) feel a little thicker by a smidgen over the ESEE 4 and a hair longer. The F1 cerrtainly feels better in my hand. Maybe consider a Blackjack 125. It certainly has larger handles.

As others have said Bark river, Swamp rat, Falkniven, or esee lazerstrike. Doesn't somebody make different scales for the esee4 that are longer?

Could get the after market handles from the knife connection.

The Fallkniven F1 or the S1. S1 is a gorgeous knife and the handle has a great feel. I travel with my S1 in my vehicle all the time.

Not sure about your hand size, but I share your feelings on the ESEE 4 handle. Instead of buying the TKC replacement scales, I chose to replace my ESEE 4 with a GSO 4.1 and give the ESEE to my wife, who loves it. I ordered one of the factory 2nds on the 17th, and a dangler yesterday, but have yet to receive them. I do have a LaserStrike, it's a great knife, but I've gotten hot spots from the blocky handle and have since found I have a preference for knives without finger choils.

ESEE does have some new knives coming out that are geared more towards bushcraft and look a lot more comfortable.

Bark River Bravo-1. You can get them in a rampless version of the ramp bothers you.

I think he went with a Tops Dragonfly.
I may be responsible for influencing his decision :very_drunk:

My preferences in order would have been : Bravo 1, TOPS Dragonfly and TOPS BOB....Sounds like he made a sound decision:D

I just sold my Bravo 1
Its a good knife but I have too many in that size range.
I really like the way the thin 1/8th blade on the DF performs.

Survive GSO 4.1 is a great knife , but I'm not sure how much more handle it has . The Ontario TAK 1 on the other hand has a much better handle then the ESEE 4 .
