i've lost a bantam years ago...

i've abuse a vintage tinker when i was youth... i thought the main blade is bending/twisting and i'm trying to straighten it up (the twist is actually by design.... i was a fool) and slide the mainblade to a door and it snap during "straightening"...

those two accident responsible for my saks collecting disease...

i have gave away more than 10 saks too my close friends, but loosing and abusing those saks when i was youth still leave a bitter feeling hehehehee...

how about you guys? i want to hear your "sad" stories hehehe

please share... thanks you all...

I abused nearly 10 years ago when I got my victorinox hunter when I was under 18. I ended entire blade chipped and such and disregarded it afterwards. I found it few months ago and reprofiled edge and removed chippings and nicks. Now its good again.

So far I've been lucky and I have only lost victorinox classic SD, but its around here, in my house... somewhere with broken scissor springs.

oh i forgot.. my swisscard is confiscated at the singapore airport... i regret to not step on in to destroy it than taken away like that...

I got a swisschamp stolen from me. I was so pissed that I went without any SAK for a couple of years.

I lost a Spartain at the quarry I used to work at. It was a specian blue one with Ford Motor Co. printed in silver down the side. My sister gave it to me for Christmas. It fell out of my Carhartts whyle I was up in the crushing plant and it fell about 80 or so feet into a massive pile of dust. Gone forever. I was so pissed.

I've only lost one SAK. A fisherman. For two days I frantically searched it, but on the third day I gave up. :(

I lost a cool old Swiss Champ that my parents gave me for a gift when I was a kid. I had it for about a year when I dropped it in the lake where I camp. One year later, my best friend was fishing off the same dock and spotted a bit of the scale in the lake mud.

He fished it out and gave it back. That was probably 30-35 years ago and I still have that knife in my kitchen. We use it all the time.

About 17 years ago, my SAK (I don't remember the model, more implements than Tinker, less than Champion) was stolen from a gym locker, along with wallet containing $50 and some credit cards. After the anger and frustration died down, I decided to go without for a while, sort of break the the SAKaholic dependency. That lasted 2 weeks. I re-SAKed with a Swisschamp, my only SAK for many years and still in rotation.

In a way, the thief did me a favor. I had already wanted a Swisschamp and he gave me the excuse to get one (in those days, I was strictly a one at a time kind of Swissknut). At the same time, I learned it was no use to resist my SAKaholic urges.

Several months later, I got a call from the authorities. My wallet had been found in an abandoned buiding, along with others that the thief had discarded there. My $50 was gone, but the credit cards and everything else was still there.

i dont know if i would call it abuse, because it was unintentional, but i melted the tip off my SAK camper. its still sharp :D

I somehow lost/misplaced my Soldier(DAK) I brought home with me upon leaving my mandatory army service.
We were issued with these.

KL 1989..

Bummer.....:(

I had a Wegner version of a Tinker, I think, that I had in the late 80's when I was first in the Army. Loaned it to my Squad Leader (Why is it NCOs never have thier own knife?) who promptly lost it somewhere downrange at the Yakima Training Center. He gave me $15 to replace it and I found a used Vic Tinker at a local gunshop for $10. I carried that to ODS, a deployment to Thailand and Egypt, and thru my 1st tour in Iraq in 2004. Between Iraq tours I was working on my truck and broke the small knife blade cutting some weatherproofing. Figured it was time to retire it and got a new Tinker off of the exhange here. Replaced that one this year with a OHO Trekker.

I've lost a super tinker which walked away at a work site and a couple of manager's over the decade plus that I've carried one. Fortunately, I have more than a few backups.

Explorer (disappeared during house move, may still be in a box somewhere) and a Midnight Manager which was on my keyring one day and...
