What Sal and his wife EDC

I saw in one of the videos from a couple of years ago that Sal said he carried a Caly 3.5 and his wife a Caly 3.

Is that still mostly true as in most favored EDC?

Isn't there another Spyderco that Sal designed mostly to his own needs/wants/specs?
 
The C54 Calypso, Stretch and Temperance are all knives that Sal designed for himself. As for what he carries everyday, he's usually carrying a prototype or pilot run of something in development. At least that's what he said the last seven times he answered. I don't know what Gail carries, but a woman who owns a chainsaw and a Bobcat can carry anything she wants as far as I'm concerned.
 
I think I saw somewhere that he was carrying a Stretch ZDP. Dunno how often tho.

Mine is actually in the mail right now. :D
 
They both carried UKPKs in the UK ;)

I know Gail has carried a Millie and Sal has carried most and the Stretch often.
 
IIRC, Gail has also carried a C22 Klotzli Walker. As for Sal, as others have said, he designed the Stretch for himself. Know he also likes the Military, and can draw and open one so fast you'd swear it was waved but it's not legal carry in Golden.
 
From what I've read: Manbug/Ladybug in shirt pocket. He designed the Stretch as a personal EDC and he still carries it often... And him and Eric carries one or two protos always to test them out.

Sal has said that Gail carries a Caly3.

Add: Just read Deacon's post right before mine, yeah limit there is 3.5 inches! Caly 3.5 fits the bill, I wonder if he still carries it a lot these days.
 
Looking forward to the Stretch Carbon Fiber to come back in the same ZDP-189 or better. Will have to do with the Caly 3.5 which I'm sure is very nice. I have the Caly 3 for EDC in L.A. where the blade length limit on a folder is 3 inches.
 
The standard joke when this question gets asked is that Mr. Sal carries a Cold Steel XL Voyager. But I'm betting that he rotates through various Spydies just like us normal people. :thumbup:

Scored a CF Stretch ZDP last week on the exchange. Would love another in a different and updated steel.
