what saw to use?

Could a person use one of those handheld jigsaws (maybe one with variable speeds) with some good metal cutting blades to cut metal with?

I've done it, but I don't reccomend it. Breaks blades pretty quickly, and an angle grinder is faster. It's also hotter and less precise, so it's a tradeoff.
