I want to cut some micarta blocks into slab-sized chunks with my scroll saw but I'm not sure what kind of blade is going to work best, and whether I'll want high or low speed. Anyone?

IMHO you will have a big job cutting micarta with a scroll saw.The media used to make Micarta is tough on blades, especially small, thin ones.
If you tried, it would require a medium toothed blade ,#3-5, with an aggressive set (alternating tooth, skip tooth, reverse tooth, etc.) A trip to a friends table saw or band saw will be a much smarter idea. Bring a six pack of beer, it will cost far less than the several dozen blades you will ruin . The dust won't be good to have all over the place either.

Thank you Stacy.

I had already tried with a couple different blades and I was having a lot of trouble with it. Off to find a band saw.... :D
