What sebenza should i get a small sebenza in blackwood or bloodwood scales

That is too hard to pick. Blackwood can be all shades of brown to black, bloodwood tends to be reddish hues from what I've seen/owned.
IMHO, I'd have to say that your first one should be one you REALLY want....as it will likely hold some sentimental value.
Best to you in your search.

They both look like awesome with a side of OMG, so just pick either!! (or both)

Since your asking for opinions, I would go with the blackwood. I think it looks great next to the titanium. Just on a side note, I've heard that bloodwood will turn from red to more of a brownish hue as it ages. Not that this is a bad thing, but something to consider. You won't be sorry with either one.

My 1st was a blackwood, so it gets my vote. For a dress knife the wood inlays are a great choice, but for a user I would go micarta every time(not that you asked). You should get what you like best, there is no wrong choice.

my wedding band is titanium with african blackwood inlays. so you know what i would choose

The African Blackwood that is available now(only fine knives, edged specialties)is very black, like a piano key. That isn't usually the case and that is why I just bought one. That may not matter to you but it does seem to be a unique moment in time for blackwood sebenzas.

Out of your two choices, I would go with the African Blackwood. To me, red wood just doesnt go with the sebenza, while the black fits it just right. For me personally, my favorite CRK wood is Bocote.

I bought my first CRK about 2 months ago. It is a small sebenza with African Blackwood. Has not left my pocket since the day it arrived. I chose the African Blackwood after researching the wood. Aside from the deeeeep rich color, I noted that is is a preferred wood for fine musical instruments... I figure that with care, the wood will age beautifully. Almost tempted to get the large with AB, but sometime this year will jump on a nice caramel color Mammoth ......if I can find one.

Go with the AB....you'll love it!

I've got a large sebenza with the bloodwood inlays - and although they start off as red, they turn a more reddish brown the more they are handled.

I've been fondling mine since I got it a few months ago, and it's amazing how they have gotten darker in color.

I also wipe the inlays with mineral oil regularly - that may help also.

The red inlays with the gold thumb stud and lanyard pin is a really nice combo.

Good luck with whatever combo you decide to go with - you really can't go wrong. It's like trying to decide what color paint you want on your Ferrrari.
