What sets EKI's apart?

Just wondering. I know their customer service is great (Mr. Emerson himself is a true gentleman) and the knives are USA made, but apart from that, what is it about them that earns them so much respect from the military and law enforcement? I can see the wave being one of them, but you can get waved endura 4's now along with a VG-10 blade which is supposedly a hair better than 154CM.

Seriously, I'm not trying to start a flame war here, I'm just genuinely curious about Emerson knives.

Thanks

The man behind the knives! That and the ergos are fantastic! Those two things aside, I'm not a fan of the edge grinds EKI chooses to use on their folders they consider to be "traditional V grinds."

I think it is Mr. Emerson and the CQC 6 made for special troops. That earned him the respect he has.

Also look at all the charity work he does for the troops. The customer service is top notch. He contributed a great portion to what is now called the tactical folder.

i prefer emersons because i like the ergo's, imho they have the most secure grips around, the only other one which is close is the crawford kasper/perfigo, i also like a lot of his designs, they just look cool, and they are all very functional with no hot spots on the handle, and though they dont have super steels like some do 154CM is a good all around steel.

also the wave of course.
