Looks great! But what spurred the design? Why is there a behemoth chunk of a steel in the middle? For improved chopping?

I admire your skill but you seem to have crossed the line between form and function. That is it would have to work better than it looks. I like the blade style without the top groves and hatchet in the middle. I hope not to offend rather just "my" response. Why not a large chopping knife and hatchet combination but separate. I see the need as a separate large knife, small knife and hatchet or axe while camping ; )

Thanks for you opinions.

It could work, I won't judge. But I'm not a huge fan of the tip though, something more curved and "bluntier" is preferred, but that's just me.

The design is very original. I personally prefer clean and simple designs, but somebody else might like it. I'd call it Dali's Spear :foot:

Interesting concept.

I would think though for the 'axe' part to have enough 'ooomph' to chop it would have to be fairly heavy and might throw off the balance of the knife itself ?

Have you chopped with it yet ? I am curious to see what it can do.

Good looking knife overall :)

What do you use it for? It certainly doesn't look like a hunting knife because it's too pointy. Skinning an animal would be difficult with this knife.

I would call it the "bastard child"

It would be a great movie knife. As far as function, I could see how that obtrusive chunk of steel in the middle could be useful for batoning and splitting wood.
