i have a benchmade 51 that got dull and i have all of the sharpeners and people have tried teaching me how to use them but i simply cant. no matter what my knife comes out dull. i would like an easy quick non skill taking to sharpen my extremely nice expensive knife. i have heard electric diamond hones are good and quick but i've heard lots of bad thinks any suggestions.

Have you tried the Lansky or Gatco rod-guided systems? They require very little skill and can produce a pretty good edge. The extra-coarse diamond stones are essential. If you aren't getting good results from those, you might just be giving up too quickly.

Good sharpening,
Dave

Absolutely DO NOT get an electric diamond pull through sharpener. They are an extremely quick way to ruin a knife. I personally use a Wicked Edge to reprofile and set bevels, then do touch ups free hand on spyderco ceramics. I like the wicked edge a lot, and its very easy to use, but its not cheap unfortunately.
