What SHEATH did Mr. Mojo CG come with?

Mine came with a pretty thin kydex sheath, not like anything else I've had from Busse. I'll try to get a pic of it when I get home later.

Hey Gundy...

Mine came Nekid...

Then I made a new pair of pants for it...:)

Second down on the left...

and here is the other..... Just let me know if you would like pics of the sheath from different angles. I wasn't sure if you were looking for something in particular so I only did pics of the sides.

That is the same sheath that one of mine came with. I believe it is standard from the shop.

My sheath doesn't appear to be "thin kydex" at all. Actually it is rather nice.

Ok, upon inspecting it, it is not any thinner than other sheaths I have, but the design (which is different than the one in Dark's picture) leaves much of the hilt and bladecatch exposed and is very flexible (i.e. the area of kydex at the top which is to hold the knife in place has no support, as you can see from the picture, there is no rivet or screw on one side, and no connecting kydex on the other since it is removed to expose the blade catch). This flexibility made me remember the kydex as rather thin. It is NOT thin, it just lacks some support for blade retention.

Now I hope the pic turns out!

Hi s002..

What you've got there is one of the first 14 prototypes I made for Jerry, just before Knobb Creek last year...

The blade catch is exposed to illiminate any resheathing problems...

Because of the blade shape, you will find a slightly looser fit than with my regular Combat Grade line...

Do you find it too loose of a fit ??

Eric....

It is a little too loose for me to comfortably carry without worrying about it slipping out. I think, however, that either a restraining strap (which could work well since the curve of the blade catch is exposed) or simply an adjusting screw somewhere near the talon hole would provide enough extra pressure to be more secure.

Heh, I figured if I ever did want to strap it onto my pack, I'd contact you for a new sheath for it. Are the others in this thread yours as well?

Hey s002...

Well by looking at the sheath I can tell you with certainty that I can make that sheath fit better for you without a doubt...

If you can live without it for a little bit, then I suggest you send it back to me (without the knife) and I will make the adjustments for you N/C...

You have one of the very early sheaths for the Mojo, which I only had a few days to work on since Jerry needed them for the show...

You know I stand by my work and will fix it for you...

Drop me a note and consider it fixed...

As far as the other sheaths go,, the only one that is mine is the one you posted and the Busse Family picture I posted.. The others I'm not sure whos they are...

Looking forward in hearing from you..

s002cjs,

I'll trade you my standard Mojo sheath for the Normark if you want. I'm not sure why Busse didn't choose the exposed blade catch rig, as the sheath they provide uses a lot of kydex. I would prefer something a little more minimalist.

Geraldo,

This Moj sheath was purposed designed as a quick release fighter. Retention is good since it's custom moulded to the specific knife.

But it's fast of out the kydex -- real fast! And, Minimal....

Very nice rig, Seth. Definately minimalist. Who made it?

I also emailed Normark about the possibility of getting one like the above.

Hey Jerry...

Just sent you mail..

I hope I didn't ramble too much...:)

After 8-10 cups of coffee I usually get like that..:) LOL

Drop me a note..

The Mojo fighter sheath was made by Durable Technologies here in California. I don't have an email for them, But I can inquire -- Email me directly.

It's a 'concept' sheath, in that the design was my idea of combining an IPSC/ IDPA type fast release while providing a balance of retention. I do believe it's a one of a kind.

I wouldn't use it for rough and tough wilderness use, but for it's purpose it does the job well. I guess it would be no problem to enclose the rear spine for more security.

Hey Seth..

Cool..

Those are called Break Front sheaths..

I use pretty much the same yupe of setup on my Kukhri sheaths,,and a prototype I made for Brent Beshera...

I also made the same front break for a Black Jack Maurauder II...
However mine are slightly different...

Anything with a fat tip like a Kuk or Bolo I put into a Front Break rig...

Thanks

Eric...

Guys, thanks for all of the pics and variants in the sheathing systems for the Mojo's. They are great!

Normark, I should know if I get a Mojo in the next coule of days and not knowing if it comes with a sheath, will be looking into one.

Any spine side pics of that breakaway sheath? I can already see how it works - very interesting!!!

Thx again fellas. Great responses!:)
