What sheath to cover your ASH?

Trying to find out what you are, or are planning to use. It's a lot of knife so it has to be sturdy. Pics?
 
I agree with all the above. I was impatient and didn't want to send my knife off for a custom fit so I converted a small spec-ops sheath after seeing Foxyrick's thread.

Works great with a few mods. And I hear the larger size fits with out mods.

When the weather warms and I get a chance to clean out my junk magnet..er..I mean garage, I will bend some kydex for mine. The tan canvas mags and DC will look nice in tri color desert or advantage real tree. :D
 
Never tried kydex. Looks like a really good carry option and probably lasts a really long time with no maintenance.
I hear good things about Spec Ops but I have been waiting since 12/1 for my BATAC sheath so I think I will pass on that option. I can see that wait time on a custom but I am looking for a little more of "instant gratification" than that. Impatient I suppose :)
I may have to get out there and make a leather one for the time being. It wont be quite like the pros but they work.

Anyone sent one off to one of the makers to use as a patern?
 
I'll have to get back to you but I think there are a couple of HOGS making some kydex pants. But I had to pass as they were for mag handles and mine are reg. :(

Cool. Thats a bummer for yours but it would be lucky for me. I ordered the mags on the ASH.
 
Here are a couple pics of the kydex sheath I made for my ASH. I've only been playing with kydex for a month or so, but my sheaths get a little better each time I try.

But you can't go wrong with Leatherman or Chuddybear for leather or Okuden or Buy Brown for kydex. Also check the homesite for the other Busse approved sheath makers.

Lots of great choices out there.

I'm in the process of designing and building leather for my custom and cg ASH's. AS for makers I like Dwayne Puckett and Mt. Mike. Both make excellent products which will last forever.

I have been playing around with kydex lately also and have found it to be a lot of fun. ;)

My ASH should be waiting for me when I get home from an extremely long work week... I can't wait!!! :D
 
Thanks kdstrick! It is a lot of fun to make them. The only thing I don't like is cleaning up all the kydex dust afterwards. :)
 
Home made leather for the SE and a Scrap Yard nylon w/ plastic sleeve insert for the CG. Will have to a better job in leather for the LE and won't bother for the HOG, that will be for display. Pete/PIGmsayre
 
I went the Spec ops route as well. I have the large so the only mod involves the liner. Couple different approaches for this, I chose to use an Edge Guard.
