Do the makers of knives with traditional materials stick to leather, and do the ones who utilize modern materials opt for the synthetic, hi-tech athletic shoes?

I bet they're well ventilated, too!

If you are a professional smith, you probably wear shoes you can get out of a supply catalog, or steel-toed RedWings, stuff like that. If you have no serious resources & have been jerry-rigging stuff all your life, then you probably wear beat-up cross-trainers with the heels rounded down from all the walking & running you do.

I don't know about Knifemakers, but if you play football and stuff and collect knives, perhaps a pair of Bruno Magli shoes are in order.

I'm guessing that Tom Mayo's shoes are full of holes

Gil Hibben's shoes are silvery and look like something out of Star Trek.

...and they're not actually made to wear, but they come with special display stands so they look good in the closet.

This isnn't a tactical thread but I just thought I would add my little thing about shoes. In many states, brass knuckles are illegal... Now I'm a lot more proficient with kicks than I am with punches. So I think that anybody who is starting to catch on to this should be wearing steel toes.

See you in hell, Liquid. That takes care of the cremation.

I am tempted to close this thread, not for lack of knife content, but for lack of Steel content. Cars have lots of steel. Shoes just smell
