Did a light polish and a mustard patina not sure what to do with the handles.I thought I would ask you guys.

I like to burn a pattern on them with a torch and lightly sand. I then will use a leather dye for color and oil them up with linseed oil.

I use tung oil on mine. Gives them a little protection and shine. It's all really personal preference.

I sand, dye with Fiebings leather dye, sand again, 2 coats of linseed then wax.

Regards

Robin

Sand it and stain it with a walnut color; so you can have a contrast between the light and the dark.

They look like plain wood, any number of treatments work, except for polyurethane. I like BLO, Tung oil, or nothing at all except sweat diry and/or blood. To each his own, as long as they don't dry out, or polyurethane. Those cheap hardware handles with poly coats will blister your hands with almost any real use.
Some of the burnt, striped handles I've seen look pretty cool, if you're into that.
