I have to admit that I don't have any tools in the house and I really don't know what tools a person needs in a house. I was wondering if you guys could give me a list of tools everyman should have in his house for house maintenance and projects etc.

I would also like this to function like a BOB toolbox that I could take with me just in case. Some car tools might be a good idea.

The ones you know how to use...

off the top of my head:

selection of flat, Philips, Robertson drivers
set of jewlers drivers
set of metric and imperial wrenches
cresent wrench
vice grip
channel wrench
1lb claw hammer
level
blunt and needle nose pliers
crimping tool
section of clamps
sets of metric and imperial hex wrenches
set of sockets metric and imperial
carpenters saw
hacksaw
power jigsaw
power drill with variable speed and torque
multimeter
tapemeassure
small t-square
assorted small nailsand screws, nuts and bolts
steel bastard file
glue can be useful: carpenters glue, 5 min epoxy, and maybe even a small glue gun.

those are the more general things I can think off hand. You might want to add some basic painting stuff, like brushes and scrappers and sandpaper.

Most tool sellers offer a household tool kit of some sort.

A basic kit would be a cordless drill/driver of mid range price. A good assorted set of screw drivers. Either a jig saw or a hand saw. An assortment of driver bit and drill bits.A hammer for nails. A tape measure. A square. A level.
A adjustable wrench 12 inch. abasic socket/ combination wrench set.
