Spyderco offers a wide selection for your specs in their moderate price range, besides the Chinese made models you mentioned that display quite good craftsmanship compared to others product of the same origin. I have the Ambitious and the Tenacious and they're both sturdy and quite useful as EDC blades for routine pocket carry. With a similar form factor you have the Cat, and the Chicago. They're both made in Taiwan, so you will notice higher quality manufacturing when compared with the Resilience. I've used both extensively as companion blades for traveling, and can recommend them for casual to light-serious use.
If your main activity will be backpacking, I would suggest a bigger blade than these, if it is going to be your only blade. The Tenacious might be a better choice. The US-made Manix is a good option because of the comfortable handle and the ease of one hand opening and closing. Besides that, you could look into the Native, also US-made, and, of course , the Japanese-made Delica and Endura. These last three have back locks, which preclude easy one-hand closing.
If your camping activities are global, I would suggest considering the UK Penknife, since they comply with regulations in restrictive jurisdictions. I have a pair, with Titanium and carbon fiber scales, and they've been useful in situations that would require a lock blade.
Finally, for sharpening, your best option among good choices is the Apex Edge Pro, but you should consider the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker, which is my main edge maintenance set. I do have a Lanski set with a wide range of grits that I use for restoring edges, so I'm not knocking that option.
