What should be my next Spyderco Blade?

I have a Resilience on the way directly from Spyderco, and I already have a long Spyderco wish list. I was thinking of getting the rest of the resilience family the Ambitious, Persistence and the ever popular Tenacious. I have been looking at the Manix series and I can say I like it. My POU is for collection and for EDC and backpacking which means I would have to get two of each one to be displayed and the other to be used. Man this is going to get expensive and I would like to blame a certain youtube personality on this new fascination as he did get me hooked on knives and other gear:nevreness:

Get what appeals to you. I do like that you are utilizing these tools. Check out the delica or endura as they are awesome as well. Manix is a heavy duty as well. For your next I would get one with a different country of origin

I am very much looking at the delica and the endura for my collections but before I buy another blade I will first have to get a good sharpener and I found 4 different ones, one is the Sharpmaker, a Lansky kit, another is the edge pro apex and the last one is from Lee Valley tools. On the country of origin part I was thinking of a US made knife or maybe a Japan knife maybe a VG-10. Its funny that when ever I think of quality knives for utility to outdoors uses I always seem to think of Spyderco.

This is great idea to get sharpener. If you can afford Edge pro, go for it, otherwise get Sharpmaker. This is the best $45 I ever spent (about seven years ago). Regarding the knife, get a good one. Save $100 and get Caly3.5 or Para2 or Native5.
Good luck

Spyderco offers a wide selection for your specs in their moderate price range, besides the Chinese made models you mentioned that display quite good craftsmanship compared to others product of the same origin. I have the Ambitious and the Tenacious and they're both sturdy and quite useful as EDC blades for routine pocket carry. With a similar form factor you have the Cat, and the Chicago. They're both made in Taiwan, so you will notice higher quality manufacturing when compared with the Resilience. I've used both extensively as companion blades for traveling, and can recommend them for casual to light-serious use.

If your main activity will be backpacking, I would suggest a bigger blade than these, if it is going to be your only blade. The Tenacious might be a better choice. The US-made Manix is a good option because of the comfortable handle and the ease of one hand opening and closing. Besides that, you could look into the Native, also US-made, and, of course , the Japanese-made Delica and Endura. These last three have back locks, which preclude easy one-hand closing.

If your camping activities are global, I would suggest considering the UK Penknife, since they comply with regulations in restrictive jurisdictions. I have a pair, with Titanium and carbon fiber scales, and they've been useful in situations that would require a lock blade.

Finally, for sharpening, your best option among good choices is the Apex Edge Pro, but you should consider the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker, which is my main edge maintenance set. I do have a Lanski set with a wide range of grits that I use for restoring edges, so I'm not knocking that option.

Keep the Edge!

Para-Military 2.. I've had a bunch of Spyderco's and love them all, but the PM2 is the one I'd keep if I could have just 1..

After reading bh49's post; I would highly consider a caly 3.5; the ergos are outstanding

para2 would probably be a great choice as well but I do not own one of these.

I'll be making my first Spyderco purchase shortly..I recently started a thread "If you could only have one" and did a little poll on my own.. The Military model was the most popular and that was the "ONE" I was going to get..Then I realized I need at least two Spydercos in my life ,maybe three...I was hoping it wouldn't turn out this way but it did... I'll probably get an Endura 4 first...Than before I go on my next kayaking/camping trip I need the Salt 1 in yellow, thats a bad a** knife for the river...Then Santa will probably bring me a Delica..

Para 2, Military, Gayle Bradley, Sage 1/2/4, Chaparral, Stretch...

Browse the catalog and see which one appeals to you the most?

Thankyou everyone for the insight. to let every one know I will eventually get the entire line of Spyderco x2 as one will be my show pieces and the other will be my use knife. Looking at the PM I actually like it a lot and the Manix 2 lightweight will most likely be added sooner rather then later. I think my next will be the PM or the Caly 3.5 as it is from japan and I was looking at a blade made in a different country.

On the sharpeners I think I will be getting the Lee Valley and the sharpmaker while I am saving up for the edge pro apex and a leather strope from lee valley.
