What should I ask for? Say <= $75 ...

As a graduation gift a good friend said he would like to buy me something nice. He knows I like fountain pens, pockets knives, LED flashlights, etc.

I don't actually need any more of those things, at least that's what the wife tells me. ;)

He has asked me what I would like? Any recommendations? Gadgets, electronics, pocket knives, LED lights, etc., anything else?

Thanks!

These get my attention every time I see one, Timberline Lightfoot Tactical Pen, they're about $75.

I got to handle one recently and thought it was perfect for a knife/pen/flashlight geek ( like myself).

Need?
Not relelevent!

Something you would like to have and will last, but would not spend your own money on it (for what ever reason).

That makes it into a gift.

This Kershaw maybe?

What type of flashlights do you have already? Any Fenix lights? Is there something you have thought about and then shoved to the side because you didn't think it relevant? I agree, need has nothing to do with it!

Not to be a wet blanket, but if there isn't anything you need for $75, why don't you have him donate it to someone who does?

Do it anonymously, without recognition, for extra altruistic points. You'll be able to carry that with you forever.

hey Cutter. ;-)

I have an Inova T3 I think that is great and very bright, but it uses expensive CR123As that I'm not too fond of.

I would love the latest technology in an AA/AAA LED light.

That is a great looking Kershaw, I love the retro look of the knife. What model is it and where can I order one?

Edit: I just found one at knifeworks.com. Not only is it a great looking knife the blade is VG-10 steel. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Maybe get something in some blade steel or handle shape you haven't tried.

Or get one you've been wanting, just never got around to getting.

Or, get a small blade (around 2--4 inches) for carry in an office or around the sheeple. A Case stockman or something no bigger that the Titanium Pika may fit the bill.

Hope this helps.

Check out NGK for a brand they carry called Olight. Also go to the CP forum, www.candlepowerforums.com and read up on the AA/AAA LED's and there are several links there to buy. You can get almost any Fenix light under $75.00.

Yeah, this one gets my vote. Very nice.

you could always go with something totally different than your normal toys/pleasures.

cigars are a good option if you are into them, guys night out on him, restaurant gift certificate plus that one will make the wife give you some more credit for thinking of her too
