Hello all I have an older BM balisong blade that I would like to put a new handle on. I was thinking about grinding down the butt of the knife and make a push dagger. would this be possible? If so Where should I grind the blade thin?I have one antler left from my other knife and was thinking of using it would this be a good choice for a push dagger or should I go for something else.Where should I grind the blade thin? Thanks for any suggestions, John

Actually to make a push dagger I probably wouldn't grind the stub at all, unless I'm badly misjudging it's size. I'd make a slot in the handle material that fits snugly, then drill out where the two holes next to each other line up in tha handle slot, or maybe even all three if you like how that looks. Put some epoxy in the slot, put in the blade, put in the puns, clean up any overflowing epoxy with acetone or rubbing alcahol, and wait for it to dry. You might want to put cutouts for your fingers right where it comes out of the handle (maybe that's what you meant by grind thin?), but I don't know what equipment you have so I can't tell you how to do it. I've never worked with antler so I can't really comment on that part of the question. Hope this helps.

thanks for all your help. I will be taking your advise in the morn. to rehandle the BM blade. Thanks again for all your help. John
