My 710hs keeps on getting bladeplay in it after a few openings. I have searched and found several people with this problem. I have tightened mine several times with the torx screwdriver, but this just keeps it tight for say 5 or so flicks. I do not think i am flicking too hard. Anyhow...many say that i should stick some sort of glue or epoxy stuff on the screw...what is the best stuff to put on there and how...just put some elmers on the top of the screw...lol..???Thanks a lot.
Also...how tight do most of yall keep yours??If you hold yours parallel to the floor with the blade open and push the axis lock back does the blade fall to the floor without pressure???if that makes sense.

I don't think you can flight it too hard. My 710HSSR can take my hardest flick and doesn't skip a beat. Still tight as ever.

Go to a gun store. Buy some Loctite. Ask for the type of Loctite they use on riflescope mount screws. The last time I bought some it was blue, medium strength. It is made so the screws can be removed with hand tools, if needed. Remove the pivot screw. Put a very small amount of loctite on the screw. Use just enough to fill the three threads closest to the end. Put the screw back in. Tighten enough so there is no blade play but the knife still opens and closes easily. Wait 25 minutes for the loctite to harden. That should do it.

I had the same problem with my BM 942. I used a similar product to Loctite as described above, and have had no problems since. You can get the blue Loctite at most auto parts stores also. I used Permatex medium strength blue thread locker, that I got at Advance Auto Parts.

ok thanks a lot. I did not want to put some glue on there that would make it so I would not be able to get the screw out ever again. I will go get some loctite then. Thanks again.

Before you use the loctite be sure to degrease the parts or it won't be as effective. You can use rubbing alchohol, brake parts cleaner, gun scrubber or lighter fluid to do it. (I prefer brake parts cleaner or gun scrubber)

Any oils that have seeped into the pivot pin will prevet the loctite from bonding properly.

Also, give it a good 24 hours to set up before you start using it again, allows for a good bond without stressing the part.

i use loctite my self, but have heard that the white teflon tape for sealing pipe fittings/etc works better, doesnt make such a mess/easier to take it apart (though i have had no probs w/a mess/etc myself)

In a pinch, if you can't find any loctite, find a woman and ask to borrow her nailpolish. Put a drop on top to cover the screw and hole. Does a great job in an emergency.
