What should I EDC para 2 or hindere xm 18?

Hinderer = better look purpose. I know XM is very tough but I don't think you would really abuse on 800$ knife, right?

Para 2 = better diary usage purpose due to better slicing performance.

But if i really have the XM, i would definitely EDC it no matter what :D

I say the para2. I've had two XM's and they didn't do it for me at all. The para2 with outcut the XM pretty easily.

I would say Para2 also. The Hinderer is tough but not a good slicer. Now if you traded your XM18 for a slicer grind.....

This is an interesting question, I currently have a Para2 and have an XM 3" slicer coming hopefully this week. I can't speak from experience yet but I plan to carry the XM as soon as it gets here. Interestingly enough they are both orange, guess I can't pick which to carry based on color alone.

I'll take cutting performance over toughness every time, but I'm not a kid anymore. So for me it would be the Para 2 hands down. The Para 2s plenty strong for what I use a folder for, which is to cut.

No, hinderer is not too heavy to edc- granted I've only edc'd 3" and 3.5" xm's. If you've got both, double up with both of them (hinderer and para 2) for edc. I sold all my para 2s and just bought another dlc version for edc. I was missing the way it feels in hand and it's slicing ability.

My vote is for whatever feels better to you. I own a few of both knives and love them, although they are different.

XM's are great EDC's. Never undertsood why someone would spend the money on one and not use it. I mean it's not some ultra-flashy rhinestone folder, right? It's a solid working knife designed by a firefighter who wanted a better, tougher folder. Use it proudly knowing that Rick Hinderer designed to take some abuse. Ever seen a scratched up Hinderer blade anyways? His stonewash shames almost every other.

Not saying you should carry it everyday, but give it the pocket time it deserves. It was designed to last a lifetime of use, not just a lifetime.

Difficult question and one I couldn't answer so I take both.

Sorry about the colour - iPhone tends to blow out reds and yellows

Do you have both of those knives? If so, carry what you want and what feels better to you. You don't need us deciding for you.

Just think of how many nice Paras you could have, for the price of one XM...

If you own both of these knives, then you really are in the best position to answer your question. Give them both a shot or carry them both at the same time. You will get the answer to your question pretty quickly.
