Looking for a fun 3 inch flipper to play with. Currently my only knife is a Sebenza 21 which I love and think is the perfect knife. Just purchased an XM-18 3.5” and thought it was too big and didn’t really understand the hype so I returned it. In the past I’ve owned the Neon Lite, Busker, Skaha 2, Small Inkosi, Half-Track and various Benchmade/Spyderco. I want something different now. Want something high quality with titanium handle. Budget is around 500. Koenig Mini-Goblin looks like the right fit but it’s tough to find. I prefer to buy new and Made in America. Also attracted to the Medford Mini Praetorian for some strange reason. As you can tell I’m very picky.

If you want a Koenig, join the fbk group, drops are regular from a specific dealer, For 500-600, Koenig and Shiro are your best bet.
Vero Engineering has the Synapse, again, most nice flipper knives in that price range are not easy to get, WE has some great models

Not on Facebook. Vero is sold out. Don’t like Chinese knives. Made in America only. But thanks.

Of all the 3-inch folders I have my hands down favorite is a Laconico EZC, but that's twice your budget if you can find one. Made in California. Next I'd say is a Trevor Burger EXK CFL, still a bit higher at $650 or so. South African if that makes a difference.

Thanks. Both look great.

Other than Koenig and Olamic, GiantMouse (specifically a GM4 or GM6 or one of their variants) comes to mind when I think of a quality titanium flipper under $500 and 3 inches. Like the Goblin, the trouble can be finding them though.

I think their only sub 3 inch knife is the busker.

Actually the Whippersnapper fits in the same size profile, and fits the hand much better than the Busker. It's produced in CPM 20CV steel, and there is a limited dealer exclusive out there right now that comes in under 5 bills. I got one and it has managed to knock every other knife out of my pocket for the time being. It's a front flipper with one of the best middle finger flick actions I've experienced. Check it out.

If you like the Sebenza that much then why not get a Mini Sebenza? Not really a flipper but very nice. Another pretty nice one that I got recently is a MKM Clap designed by Bob Terzuola. Very high quality made with a Bohler M390 blade and carbon fiber handles. It should cost you about $263.

I

ll probably do this. Not sure if I should pick one up now or wait for the color combo I really want..

Just get the Medford now, and wait for the exact Koenig you really want. After all, it’s been scientifically proven that you can’t have too many knives.

Don’t settle!!

Ok now which Medford? I like the Micro Praetorian but the Slim Midi Marauder looks nice too.

The Micro Praetorian is one of those knives that you buy because it’s an exercise in style and/or manufacturing that speaks to you in some form or fashion, and not so much because it is an efficient cutting tool. The Slim Midi is more of an efficient cutting tool and a little less a design exercise. You just have to decide what drives your desire to purchase.

Or you could just do what I did and buy both.... :)
