What should I get?

I am in search for a new everyday carry pocket knife. I am not into the tactical style knives that seem to be so popular these days. The knife that I currently carry is an Old Timer 12OT and I really like the style of the knife but the quality is not great. I would like something a little bigger than the 12OT and I would prefer a single blade folder that is stainless. My biggest complaint about my 12OT is that it does not hold an edge worth a damn. Any recommendations?

Buck 302.
Stainless - Holds an edge well.
4" closed length.

I like that and the price is very reasonable. I was also looking at the Case G10 Back Pocket, what is your opinion on it? Do you buy online? What are some trusted sites to buy from?

I prefer Case to Buck, but millions of people are happy with either. They are both way better than the one you have.
It is probably going to come down to looks: pick the one that looks best, to you.

Don't have an opinion on the back pocket, but if you click on the link in my signature line, it will take you to a list of internet dealers who have dealer memberships at BladeForums. I've bought from several of them and haven't had a bad experience with any of them.

You might also look at commentaries on various dealers in "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly Feedback Forum"

Another vote for the Buck 302. I have one exactly like the one pictured and I'm impressed. Took an incredibly sharp edge, and when open you can barely make out the line between the blade and the backspring. Only flaw was cosmetic - someone forgot to put the swedge on the right side of the blade. For the money I was impressed.

Actually that's not a flaw as they are all like that. I wouldn't exactly call it a feature though as it seems kinda weird. But the 302 is a fine pocket knife.

Ok so I took in consideration everyone's opinion and I decided to go to the local knife store to look at the Buck 302 and the Case Back Pocket but while I was there I fell in love with a Case Sod Buster Jr. and that is what I took home.

Excellent choice.

Hard to argue with that choice.

Congrats!

Since you guys mentioned Buck, just a thought, Buck dropped the yellow scaled 300s from the new catalog, wonder if that will make them hard to get someday ?

I like sodbusters 300

Buck 302 was on my mind when I saw your post. Though you might be interested in the Queen Country Cousin, while it's not stainless D2 tool steel resist corrosion pretty well, and will definitely hold a grand edge. Maybe an Inox Opinel, it's got a nifty lock, and is incredibly ergonomic, and pretty inexpensive. 12C27 Sandvik is great stainless steel, they will take a killer edge.
