Here's the deal. Gonna spring for a nice frame lock prod. folder. I am torn between the Rijbak and the Kershaw Titanium framed/lock ltd. ed. prototype Junyard Dog II with the SG2 laminated steel I think it is called. The Kershaw is less expensive by about 30 bucks than the RB. Both have similar blade styles in shape with the steel being different. Both are tip down carry too. Any experience with the Kershaw anyone? I have read a ton of stuff on the RB and was leaning towards that but now that I have heard of the Kershaw maybe that might be the way to go. Beats me, so opinions are appreciated.

I was also looking at the EKI and Sebbie's but nixed them. Have had 2 sebbies and didn't care for the handle ergos and the EKI's well although I do like EKI's and pretty much carry one for edc(14) I think that with what is being offered out there now in framelocks you can get a better bang for the buck. Anyways opinions appreciated. keepem sharp

Don't know about the JYDII personally, but do know that Kershaw don't make no junk! Also, this will be a limited run knife so that affect how you use it. I think you would have a great knife if you choose this option.

I've responded to a couple places today about the Rijbak and after having mine for the past 2 1/2 months I can definately say that I would do it over again! The Rijbak is a heck of a knife. A heavy duty knife that rides well in the pocket and is light enough not to drag your pants down, although I normally like the "drag your pants down" knives!
The Rijbak clip is one thing I really like over the JYDII as it has a foldover deep pocket clip so when the Rijbak is in your pocket ALL you see is the clip on the outside of your pocket, whereas you will have an inch or so of handle sticking out with a very wide easy to see clip on the JYDII. And that is the only reason I haven't purchased the JYDII as I like low ride clips much better.

Either way you go you'll get one heck of a knife!!:D

HEY ALL, just hit 1000 on my post count!! Guess that's a good thing................

If you EDC carry a cqc 14, you won't regret getting a cqc 12. It is my EDC and my all time favorite. I plan to buy more in the future. The only thing I don't like about the cqc 12 is the wave. You can also consider a wilston tactical level 1 frame lock.

hey dennis, you should get the RIJBAK ! so i can buy it from you later!:D i don't care too much for the clip on the jkdII. but that's just me.:)

Hey Jack I hear ya bro! Definetly leaning towards the Rijbak. Nixed the 12 and HD 7 just for the simple reason and I hate to say this as I like EKI prod.'s but I think you can get a better build of materials in a frame lock vs the EKI's. I am also looking at the TOPS line of frame locks. A bit less expensive than the RB but not much so. Again though Ti one side and G10 the other and I am thinking the RB has full Ti both sides plus the G10 and and S30v blade. The blade steel matters less to me though. Whatever I decide it will be done this weekend. keepem sharp and thanks

Just another positive on the Rijbak; the lockup is one of the best I've see for a framelock. Several things about it, with one being that the entire lock face comes over to the tang face so that the left side of the lock and the left side of the blade tang are evenly aligned, leaving plenty of room for wear. Another thing I really like is that the cutout is left thicker than many framelocks I've seen. This should make it stronger and what I like is that it makes the lockbar stiffer. You have to make a concious effort to unlock it as it is not going to unlock by itself.

I know I must sound like a spokesman for Blade-Tech, but I'm not. It's just that I've been so impressed with this knife that if anyone expresses an intrest in one I want them to know just how fine a piece of cutlery it is!

The Rijback seems like a bullet-proof folder (Or as much as one can be), but it's also quite large, isn't it?

I think the JYD SG2 is quicker into action, but might not be quite as strong (Although probably strong enough).

I think it's really a matter of your needs & priorities, really.

The Rijbak was actually a little smaller than I was expecting, but remember I'm usually carrying a larger folder. Overall I think it is under 9" overall length. Yet it fits my large hand quite nicely. Yep, at it again......maybe I should apply for a spokesman job.............
