What should I order?

After making a few basic knives, I am thinking of some more difficult prodjects that I would like to do. I would really like to make a drop point hunter or two, a coffin style handled knife with wire tucked in the wood (I saw it on a video), and some knives with steel guards and bolsters. This is going to require an order to a lucky supply shop. I'm wondering what to buy.

non-copper bolster material? Matching rivits?

Can I use regular rivits with micarta?

The most aggressive buffing compound?

What kind of wire gets put into a handle to make designs?

solder?

The best place to order from?

I'd recommend Pop's knife supplies. He'll most likely have everything you'd need at a great price. You can give him a call and talk to him (he's there in the afternoons (EST), he's an extremely helpful and freindly fella.

I agree. Hey J. Neilson...I like the way you look (in my best Billy Bob Thornton 'Slingblade' voice) CAVELADY

I talked to James for a while this evening. He's great, a big help. Thanks guys!

Sounds like "CAVElady" would like some of them thar franch-fried taters and then get baptized. She didn't do it though...but they just let her out of that thar nervous hospital.
