What size hex wrench to remove pocket clip screws?

Aloha to all. I recently purchased a Tenacious and wanted to move the pocket clip to another position on the knife. The brochure that came with the knife says to use a 1.5 mm hex wrench. I've tried a couple wrenches that size and they won't fit. I have Hudy wrenches and even couple cheap brand wrenches and they all don't fit. I know the screws are not stripped. I'm wondering that maybe I have to use a proprietary Spyderco tool like Microtech does on their knives? :D

Thanks for the reply. I'll track down a torx wrench. I swear it said hex in the brochure

try using a torx bit size T6 for the pocket clip and body screws and a torx bit size T8 for the pivot, if ever need be.

i looked in the paper thats in my tenacious box and it also says to use hex bits. but try the torx bits they should fit!

Thank you very much! I appreciate the info! I'll be down to my hardware store tomorrow morning and looking for those specific size bits.

you can do what I did. I took my lighting to sears and started using all of there torx until I found the right size and bought that one. well it worked for me so it should work for you too.

Thanks to all for the replies. I realized last night I did have a set of torx bits made by Wiha. I hardly use them that's why I forgot I had them.

Just be careful, I know some of the older Tenacious knives had softer hardware. Just go slow and you'll be fine.

Yeah, they're small Torx bits. T6 for clips, T8 for pivot (usually) as others have said. Hard to find bits that small usually, but Home Depot sells a Husky brand 8-in-1 Torx tool that works wonderfully.

It really depends on the knife. The latest Manix 2's are coming with the same size clip screw as the liner screws, likely to streamline production.

The Tenacious has had two different sizes depending on when yours was made it could be either. The T6 and 1.5mm are both correct to my knowledge. Just don't force anything, they are soft and will deform. The Husky torx driver is also branded as Kobalt and sold at Lowes. I also have a pocket Benchmade torx set that seems to be better quality than the Kobalt one.

I am wondering now why torx and not hex screw heads? I just noticed that my Spyderco Police uses Phillip head screws and the rest of the hardware are torx.
