What small EDC Busse

I’m wanting to go to a fixed blade for EDC. I’ve never carried one exclusively for EDC before and I want to try it because I see the benefits.

I’ve got an MKC mini speedgoat 2.0 on the way along with their deep pocket clip leather sheath to test out this method. I bought the MKC because of the hype before I realized it’s just crazy marketing… ohh well. I have a feeling I’m not going to like the thinness of the grip with just the paracord though and I also just kinda want to EDC a Busse.

Does Busse make anything that’s comparable that someone also makes a similar pocket carry leather sheath for? Basically one of the Busse leather sheaths that’s a good bit of the handle slides down into as well but has a clip for the pocket instead of a belt loop.

I ordered one of the custom shop crab bowies today that I think will be a little large for this carry method but I plan to belt carry it on occasion. I also ordered a custom shop nano fusion camp mistress that will definitely be do large for EDC.

Should I try to pocket carry the crab Bowie? I ordered one of the leather sheaths with it, does anyone make one like that but has a pocket clip?

I’m just not that well versed in all the different models and it doesn’t seem like everything is shown on the Busse website. I’m definitely not well versed in all the different sheath makers and what is offered.

I would look at the Busse Sale Forum and look at the blades and shapes you prefer. Your current selection is just under 7" with a 3" blade. There are plenty of Busse, SYKCO and Swamp Rat that fit that exact criteria

IWB or pocket carry.

You can adjust the Ulticlip to carry deeper if you like.

I’ve got some ulticlips and played with them on some 4” knives with kydex sheaths. I don’t like the whole handle poking out with the top of the sheath at the top of the pocket to be able to easily slide it back in and I don’t like the sheath being placed further down into my pocket. That’s why I like that leather style sheath that MKC makes for the mini speedgoat.

I have made sheaths that set deeper in a pocket/come higher up on the handle as well.

A customer suggested to make a pancake style sheath and put the ulticlip on the leading/spine side edge to lock the knife in place.

and it worked really well.

with a taco style sheath that will not work but the sheath still works well.

Any knife you carry deeper will benefit from a lanyard pull of some kind.

are you trying to conceal because work does not allow knives ? OR ?

Crab drop is great, I’ve also got a Game Warden 2 but it’s kinda heavy with the blade stock being fairly thick. If you want to pocket carry the scrapivore is probably your only option. I’ve got an old one but it doesn’t get much use, the sheath I have is a bit bulky. As much as I prefer the concept of fixed blades, the folding knife is much more convenient for EDC. Also where I am I can’t legally carry a fixed blade concealed so you definitely stand out with a knife on your hip.

I just don’t want an entire handle sticking up out of my pocket to bang on stuff even more than it would tucked deeper or someone’s kid at the grocery store to get curious seeing and yank it out or something. Lots of reasons I don’t want it sticking up out of my pocket any more than it needs to. At that point I’d just wear a sheath on my belt full time anyway.

I do not make 100% leather sheaths.

I do make Leather covered kydex Mutants though.
