So I have been trying to justify what sold me on a Real Emerson verses an Emerson license knife made by another company. Some how I found this U-Tube of Mr. Emerson when he was at in at Shot Show. Talking about his knives.

Sorry it is not short U-Tube, over 30 minutes, but IMHO gave a lot of information about Emerson Knives, why Emerson use the steel it does, plus a few other whys are answered. I confess I watched it several times.

Again the U-Tube featured Mr. Emerson so it was from the man behind the company, who actually started the company. It was not from some company PR person who never sat at a work bench for. More than a photo op. But from the man with hands on experience.

Like I said it was a great sales tool, sold me to take the time to travel to see the product with my own eyes, and tech, and feel it.

Nuff said enjoy the u-tube linked above.:joyous:

Yeah, I really like this video. Showed it to my coworkers a while back and half of them EDC Emersons now. I like how Mr. Emerson says it's about friends. There are a couple more videos like this (Karambit & quick chat).

I have watched that video a few times. Great insight to an awesome man and company.

I dont think anyone really questioned you about buying an Emerson. It was you calling ZT "foo foo knives" that was causing people to question you since you have never owned/ used one. Even though main carry is one of ZT's "foofooier" designs in your eyes, it is still a beast.

If you want to buy Emersons, then go ahead. If their product was as bad as the haters make it out to be then they wouldnt be one of the most popular knife companies around. You dont need to justify your purchases to anyone here. We are all knife freaks that regular people dont understand. With how much people complain on the Emerson forum about people bringing in negativity, its kinda crazy for an Emerson fan to be negative towards another great company working directly with them.

That's the only nutn video that I actually enjoy watching. lol

That is the last one that I watched the entirety of. The 5-6 min vids weren't bad but last time I looked everyone was from 15-30 min and up. No thanks.

Also, I have an idea of what I like and what I probably wont like so knife reviews don't do much for me anymore. If I'm looking at something specific that's one thing but I find my time is spend better else where. Like here.

One thing more to add. Throughout the vid you can tell that Ernie is thoroughly enjoying himself just standing their talking knives and hanging around with a fan of his knives. It is a great video.

The little bit Nutn spoke in this video was still too much for me.

Regardless of the designs, and whether I like all of them or not, I have to respect the man's passion for what he does. I'm definitely looking forward to getting my hands on my third "first" Emerson this week.

The U-Tube was what made me want to explore the Emerson product to the point of driving to a place where I could see the real deal in person, touch it, feel it, examine it. I had no problem viewing the entire U-Tubeseveral time, as it kept my attention. For me it was a great source of information, or sale tool.

Yep!
What tripped my wire was going thru many, many folders and ALWAYS ending up with an Emerson back in my pocket.

Well my pockets normally have three folders in em. The oldest is a very small Swiss Army Pen Knife from L.L. Bean that I have has like 30 years if memory serves me correctly. It's alway in my watch pocket. Next oldest is a Spyderco Rescue Jr. that I have had maybe 12-15 years that use to clip in my Pocket I carry my keys in, on my strong hand side. It has now move to a back pocket, replace by my Real Emerson CQC-7-BW about 60 or so days ago.

I've always liked Emerson's due to the fact when I was younger all the military guys I knew had Emerson's so I put 2 and 2 together and I got only 2 Emerson's but that's gonna change soon! No matter what if I don't got my cqc-8 I always have my la Griffe on I even sleep with it on I just take it off to shower!

the video is great, it reminded me that theres a dealer on ebay right now who has a good sale on emerson micro commanders, just a heads up for anyone who may be interested.

you just had me watch this interview for the third time

Mr Emerson is a great guy obviously - would be an honor to meet him in person

his philosophy and passion for what he is doing is what makes the products great

I think that most people recognize the 'real deal' when they see it and EE is the real deal. No bs, just fact and I like that. The same philosophy goes into his knives and that is what keeps an Emerson knife in my pocket.

I honestly think it take two or three viewing to absorb all the information that is exchanged. One of my favorite movies is a comedy starting Steve Martin, I have it on DVD, and think I have finally have seen it enough times to see all the jokes I missed the first couple of viewings.
