Hi. I already have a Military and a Starmate, and was looking to add something else. I'm looking for something with good steel and at least a 3' blade. Getting another Chinook had occured to me but, I was also looking at the Gunting and the Ayoob. What do you all suggest?

I think you should get a large Calypso. A sweet knife and it fits well with everything you mentioned.

...A.G. Russell today...

Cool knives, can't be beat...great design, company, and price...($70 per, delivered)

Check it out...

would be my choice. CPM 440V blade, G-10 handle scales, compression lock and possibility to choose between two blade shapes - upswept trailing point or modified spear point. MBC class!

I like dePaul's suggestion. Two 3" blade shapes of 440V to choose from. The Lil' Temperance is definitely a unique piece to add to your EDC rotation.

Actually, all of the suggestions sound good.

Might have to pick up one of those Jess Horn's myself.

CHINOOK, of course.
Your Military will shiver at the sight of it coming home to take its place as King of the collection ;)

Hey,

I've got both an Ayoob and a Chinook; the Chinook wins, hands down.

On the other hand, I'm actually carrying a Lil' Temperance: the temperance is lighter, more low-profile, and has more blade for the handle length than the Chinook.

If you prefer lightweight knives, go for the Temperance. If you like knives that feel completely bulletproof, go for the Chinook.

(As an aside, I don't much like the Ayoob. The cant of the blade is great, but the handle is too thin and smooth in cross-section for the narrow profile of the scales.)

Just my thoughts,

Ben

I would say get one of the C48 Tim Wegners. Great knife, nice size and heft and it cuts like crazy.

Geee.., you must really be glad you asked now...lol :) So many suggestions you will probably spend three times the amount getting several

You've got some good ones.., but if you don't have a Chinook.., then that's the way I'd go...
