What steel? 9-1/2" length blade. A2 or D2

I was wondering what steel will be better D2 or A2 for 9-1/2" length blade (~15 OA) I read many post about HT D2. Some people say that if D2 will be properly HT, could be used for large blade. (I have some D2 )
And what about A2 is it proper steel for such blade?
Or maybe You will suggest different steel. (stock removal)

Either one will work. I've made quite a few large camp knives out of D2 with excellent customer feedback. Some of the customers are hardcore users.

Thanks butch, Ron Hood is probably the hardest user of blades that I know of. He told me he has a box full of broken blades.
