Can anyone tell me what stainless steel Western of Boulder, Colorado used? I have a W84 model skinning knife that has an NRA Whitting Center logo on it. I was curious about the type of stainless. Thanks

I have some Western slipjoints in stainless and they are 440A, I would think the fixed blades were the same.

I read somewhere that some of there knives were 420hc. I don't know if that is true or not though.

They used 440a for most of their lifespan, Camillus bought them and moved to 420HC after a few years.

But did Western or Camillus make the Model 84 skinning knife? I have one with a "NRA Whitting Center" logo and was wondering what kind of stainless it has in it ?
