What steel should be used to make the liners on a liner lock?
How is it kept springy for long term use?
Eventually will do fame locks but not yet.

A lot of guys use 410 stainless for liners. I used to also until switching to titanium exclusively. I always had Paul Bos heat treat my 410 liners to 45 Rockwell which is about the max hardness for that steel if you oil quench and its a good spring hardness which kept the locks sprung nicely if I sprung them before heat treat.

I don't know about that one personally and have no experience with it. 410 and 416 are the only ones I've used and for liners 410 was my choice until switching to titanium. For me titanium was a better choice and brought more to the table. I like it for not needing heat treated and being able to anodize it a color is appealing.
