What steel in Philips knives?

I got these as a free gift when I bought a new Philips airfryer. Does anyone have a guess as to the steel? I’m sure they are Chinese made even though nowhere does it say that.

All you can do with any knife is use it and sharpen it a few times. You’ll know if it’s decent or not in short order.

this applies to cheap Chinese knives and high end customs.

Even when you know the steel, you don’t know if the heat treat is right.

Sorry for the long winded reply that totally skirted actually answering your question.

Yes, I know all of that. Thanks.
I want to know if anyone knows what the steel is, specifically.

Possibly CMSS or CMSSS (Chinese Mystery Stainless Steel or Chinese Mystery Surgical Stainless Steel).

Jokes aside, you won't know if they're decent unless you use them.
But, manufacturers usually state which steel they use if the steel is decent, so don't have high expectations.

If they're usable then congrats on your gift.
If they're POS... well do whatever you want, toss them away or do durability tests on them until they fail :D

I don't know.
I'd guess either 3CR whatever Mo/MoV and/or 420J2.
I hear that 1.4116 Krupp is used in a lot of kitchen knives, (and not just those made in Germany) so it may also be a possibility.

I don't know if every knife in the set has the same steel.
