what steel is my sebenza?

Hi guys,

I got a used large sebenza locally. The guy I bought it from did not have the birthday card for the knife, but said he got it in '97 or '98. Is there anyway to tell what kind of steel the blade is made from?

I took the knife apart and there are no markings on the blade.

I would also say BG-42, as my BG's do not have date stamps inside. Also....

So, without the birthday card is there no way to tell for sure if it's S30V or BG42? or are the S30V stamped?

It's my first sebbie so I have nothing to compare it to.

s30v blades are stamped S. More then likely you have a BG-42.
