I’ll start (even though mine was a couple days ago). I installed a scope on a 10/22. After I dry fitted everything I took it apart and reassembled using threadlocker so everything would stay put. I put one drop in each of the receiver screw holes before tightening the picatinny rail. The screw holes goes all the way into the receiver
. The threadlocker dripped down and my bolt carrier group (?) was seized up. Couldn’t wiggle it 1/4” in any direction
. I started thinking “fuck, fuck, fuckity, fuck”. Luckily I had used blue threadlocker. I carefully applied heat from a heat gun and banged the receiver down like it was a hammer! Success! Once it got moving, I cleaned it out really good using lighter fluid and CLP. Looks like I’m in the clear.
What dumb thing did you manage to do?
