What strider do I need?

Which one should I use? I need something to open my mres and cutt det cord and still use for h2h.
 
Hi Crunchy,

Welcome. Sounds like you need a utility type Strider. I would look at the MFS Strider or a DB for smaller field chores. My favorite is the MT. 6.25 inch blade, a good all around utility blade.
Any Strider will handle the jobs you mentioned with ease. I'm sure you'll get some more input.

Remember most tasks done by the smaller blade can be accomplished by the larger. So cut down on repeated pack items and use one blade for all tasks, if possible. MH or MT are good choiced for field tools.
 
Can someone explain the difference between the MH & MT? From the pics it looks like the spine drops toward the tip on the MH.
 
Think modified Bowie when you see a MH and the MH might have a tad more "belly" for general purpose cutting.

Between the MH and MT it's more how you like the looks of the blade than one being "better" than the other. I've got a MH and a MT mod 10 and really like them both. The MH is my daily carry knife at work and will go with me on any/all deployments.

PS.......me thinks crunchy11b and trools have lots in common :p
