There was a thread here about where do you draw the line on the use of the warranty??? when do you stop and think "maybe i shouldn't use this knife for this task"?

I have two knives, the RC6 and RC3... and they are my only knives and actual first knives... and from reading that thread i mentioned it made me wonder what do you guys use your ESEE knives (specially the RC3 and RC6) for?

So, please say the tasks you perform with your knives... This will give me (us) an idea of what these knives can do without actually abusing them but using them for what they were meant to do...

For example,

RC3, i can baton small pieces of wood, how big and how hard the wood I am not sure yet... what kind of wood do you baton with the RC3?
Also, I've seen videos where this guy is cutting through a tire with his RC3... also, i've seen pictures where the RC3 is being used to baton straight through the side of a log... I've seen knives of this size that are used as can openers, can we expect our knives to do this? will it be abuse of the warranty? also knives this size cut through aluminum cans... can else do you guys do?

RC6, i think i can baton logs with a diameter as big as 6 inches or a bit more... I can chop with it...

I use my knife for anything wilderness on any wood as big as the blade length will handle. These knives will do anything wood without flinching or much edge loss. I pry all kinds of wood and the wood always loses. However I respect my knives and don't hit them with rocks or against rocks on purpose. I also don't use my knives against any metal, just because my knife is such an integral part of my survival system I don't like it taking unnecessary damage. To break these knives will not be easy, I trust mine with my life after using it.

Warranty for me - If I break my knife by accident I will send it back and get a new one. If I have to grossly abuse it on purpose and than I break it I will just buy a new one. Actually no I won't I have a new one sitting in my closet.:D

I'm not sure what I would have to do to "abuse" my ESEE5... yikes!

Maybe something that might chip the blade or something like trying to baron through rebar...?

I just use it for a durable hard-use knife, so I doubt I'll get close to the outer edge of it's capability. I've got other tools for other tasks - if in a survival situation, I won't be concerned with chipping or point damage, of course!
