I recently bought a cold steel ak-47 field knife. The grip fits my large hands perfectly. I do however find the g10 grip to be a little on the abrasive side. I want to buy some tennis wrap tape, or any alternative someone here can recommend for the g10 handles to give them a softer grip. I am also concerned about how the knife will fit into the sheath with the tape on it. thanks for any help, Jeff

I like using nylon or teflon tape. They stick aggressively to themselves (nylon more so than teflon) provide a very grippy (even when wet) but resilient feeling handle, you can make as thin or as thick as you like, comes in a variety of colors, MOST IMPORTANTLY - you can remove it at any time with no damage or residual adhesive to whatever surface you have covered. I find that I need to change out - maybe - every 3 months. Perhaps more so on some wood cutting tools such as machetes or hatchet handles.
