What the best replacement for my old ZT 560?

I absolutely love the form, fit and performance of my ZT 560. I wanted to buy one for my best friend, a retired Navy Corpsman, until I realized that they’re no longer made .

After much searching, it looks like the ZT 562, looking at the TS version actually, is the closest replacement for the 560.

I liked the grippy scales, stout blade, blade shape and overall real world fit in hand of my old 560. So that’s what I’m looking for.

Input, suggestions or advice would be much appreciated. I’m open to other brands as well. This will be a special gift for my friend who wouldn’t otherwise buy himself a good blade.

Thanks all!

While the 0562s are killer knives, they’re definitely smaller than the 0560.

I’d agree on the 0562. Any of the variants of that line will serve you well. Carries better too.

Great video! Just what I was looking for. Unfortunately unless I can find a nice mint used one, I still am out of luck.

I still have two 0560 variants, and a few 0562 variants and have a tough time picking a favorite (or selling one apparently :).

The 0560 has shown up on the Exchange for under $200 pretty regularly.

Many would say that the 0562 is a better knife, and they would not be wrong. I'd encourage you to try one out.

0562 is significantly smaller. The closest to 0560 is Hinderer XM-24, but that knife is also significantly more expensive. How about Benchmade Contego or Crooked River?

As somebody who also loves the 0560 series, I wouldn't recommend the ZT 0562 as a replacement. I would suggest the ZT 0301/3, Freeman 451 Flipper, if you want a lighter knife, the Ferrum Forge Mordax.
