Hey everyone. Allow me to introduce myself. Hee....

I thought I would check in and see what all my old buddies were up to. Is everyone healthy? Did anyone die?

I'm still married to the Brit. He's been laid off for a while but we made some good choices a while back and so he's just chilling for the summer

I am working at a funeral home doing prep work. I bathe bodies, set some of their features (not makeup, someone else does that), dress them, load them in caskets and deliver them to their funerals, then get everything set up there. I really love it! I am also learning the cremation process and like that a lot too. The industry is fascinating. There's been a couple of "Oh sh#t" and "eww" moments but for the most part it never bothers me.

Some of you know some of my history and I want to share with you that tomorrow we are all celebrating as a family because my daughter Katie has been sober for A YEAR. The nightmare that was my daily existence seems like a lifetime ago.

I only have one knife now, a spydie of course. I use it at work all the time.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Danelle

Glad someone is willing to do that. Prayers for the continued sobriety of your daughter. I am relatively new, so probably never read none of your prior posts, but welcome back regardless.

Hmmmmm. Interesting post. It makes me wonder though. What do you do with the Spydie at work?

Wait! Don't answer that. I don't want to know. :D

Good to see ya posting again, Danelle! Most of us old-timers are still here...Most.:D.

Great seeing your your name around here. Also congrats on your girl's year, sobriety is tough. Hit me up on myspace. I remember bs'ing with on BF chat on mIRC.

Good to see you're still kickin' Danelle! We miss you... how about stopping by more than once a year or so? Good to see that you are happy in your job, though it would probably skeeve me out totally! ( I can barely put a band-aid on a live person...)

Hogs n' kisses...:D

The funeral industry is recession proof, good choice of work for the times we live (and die) in.

It is GREAT to see you!! All is well here on my end.

Oooh, your job sounds fascinating!!!

While you're right that people do and will continue to die, the big difference I've noticed with the downturn in the economy is that people are looking for the absolute cheapest options available. Lots more cremations (which costs about $1200) , and a lot less formal funerals (the sky is the limit pricewise).

It's even possible to have a viewing with the deceased in a cardboard box, and people do it ALL THE TIME.

The industry is absolutely fascinating and I love love love it.

Great to see you back and even better to know things are going well and that you are happy.

So wonderful to hear from you!!!!!!
Glad you found your nitch and enjoy your work!!!
Not many folks can say that!
The old folks don't post very often any more. :(
Time stinks, it takes away the good stuff as it passes!

What model? What's the history of this particular knife? Did you aquire it when you worked for Spyderco? From the factory floor? Details!! Thanks. :)

Welcome back and congratulations on your daughters change in life.

About that spydee.... what do you do with it at work... wait... never mind, let me put the question this way; Would you peel and eat an apple with it?:D
