What the heck!?!?

I bet you're using Firefox, aren't you? Whenever anything weird goes wrong in Firefox clear your cache.

Nope, IE here. I was trying to search for an 0-1 source to help out Burchtree . It may have had something to do with trying to start out with numerals in the search terms. I then left out the numbers and tried "percision ground steel" but got the same result, that being the screen went completely blank. I didn't think the terms would've been too generic but maybe......

The screen goes blank when you overload the search engine. Don't use words like steel, knife, knives, Spyderco, etc. The search engine gets too many hits and it just shows you a blank page.

"percision ground steel"

Well, the word "steel" is what caused it to overload, but even without that you wouldn't find what you want because there's no such word as "percision." Spelling counts!

The search function does work if you coddle it a little. Please read the sticky thread.

Break your search down into smaller bits too. Search individual forums at a time. Search titles only first and see what you get. Last week I did a whole bunch of searches about the Endura, and started off by searching every forum I wanted info from (Spyderco forum, toolshed, reviews, etc.) individually. I also started off with searching titles only first, and then went to searching entire posts.

If you know how to use it, the search engine here works well. In fact, there's so much info here in old threads you could spend days reading and learning.

same thing happend to me yesterday I searched the same thing 0-1. I didnt type anything els. isnt there some way that we can use google and have that as bladeforums search engine. Wont it be better than the current one.

Yes, you can go to Google Advanced Search and put bladeforums.com in the domain field and for some purposes that can work better than the internal search function.
