Out mowing on my farm and thought I saw something near the creek. "What's that?" I thought. I hopped off mower and went down to investigate. The King smelled blood.



As Karl Childers said, "I hit him two good whacks in the head with it. That second one just plum near cut his head in two". The king got his first kill and I've got another tasty meal.
 
Man, snappin' turtle is some good eatin'!!!! I got an old guy that lives up the road from me, he begs for every turte I catch. He lovs it better than anything lol.
 
Kinda like frogleggs, to me. (But they were prepared differently.) Meatier than 'gator tail, and greasier than chicken.
River turtle in China was quite tasty, but the bone to meat ratio was too high to make it worhwhile.
Enjoy that!
 
need me a license up this way to kill those unless i feel my life is endangered
 
I had some when i was young. Turtle stew. We ate, we liked, tasted like beef to me, didn't know it was turtle until after dinner, when dad told us. It was done low & slow & long like a crock pot.
 
Am I the only one who would think this would be a great pet? Man I've turned into a...

Please to help me understand - are snails good pets for blind people? Or are turtles good pets for snails???

I had a pet turtle when I was 9 - box tortoise, actually. Best-behaved animal that's ever owned me.
My Mom had it put down while I was on vacation.
