Hi All
Does anyone know what the BC tang stamp means?? It is on the plain handled scrimshaw in the middle of the pic I have seen it on only one other LB7 and it was an Indian Scrimshaw. The handle on the BC knife below also has a higher polished finish and is a slightly different color than the normal delrin scrim LB7 Im not really sure what material it is.

Thanks for the thread on the 4 pin LB7s I didnt even know I had any 4 pin LB7s till I read the thread and checked re: below, thanks. The one without any pins at all is an English made Schrade.
Regards Tim

Before China?

Terrific !!! I thought BC normally means "Before Christ" that would mean it is a very rare Schrade? . "Before China" sounds better, I Love it !!!!!

Seriously, I wish I could have helped ya a little more Tim. I would really like to know what the BC stands for myself. However, I find if I'm stumped, I always try to fix it with humor.

i really like LB7s, so thanks for those pics. is the Sears one a Camillus ? bolster is a different shape. roland

I never noticed before but all the Native American series are stamped with the knife's name.
BC - Bear Claw
KD - Kachina
MS - Morning Star
SD - Sun Dance
TB - Thunderbird
IT - Turtle
The Lance made for MW was not so marked...

Thats a hard question for me to answer. I have a collector friend who believes its a Schrade, he is a member of a Schrade club that meets every month and he is an old timer at collecting, he should know.
I personally am persuaded that it is a Camillus because I also consider Codger an expert on the subject and hes posted photos showing the pin location differences, you can see the differences in pin locations above.
Anyway Im pleased to have 1 camillus in memory of theire recent closure.

Thanks for that info! It would be nice to collect all the tang stamps, I had no ideah, thankyou agian.

Tim, that's a very impressive shot, is it a number of photos linked together? And what fire company does that red steamer wagon represent? I've never seen that one before. Very nice!

Larry, great call, I've never noticed that myself:confused: :D

Eric, its just the one photo but Ive used the largest 1MB option for photos with the hosting site I needed to download it here.

The red cart is a Benjamin Franklin firefighters edition, the cart is an early firefighters cart.
The steamer engine on the other knife is the old steamer engine that used to be located in the old village of Walden.

Ive trimmed down my collection a little and these are a number of those that are left as Im really happy with them.
I dont seem to be able to get the others to display as well as these (as in the 2 photos).

Ive been back to the photo print shop so many times Ive lost count. Ive framed both these photos together and have them on the wall at home.

Kind Regards Tim

Tim, I must tell you that your pics have forced me into becoming a LB7 collector. I've been looking to refine my collection and have found what I'm looking for thanks to you and your incredible pics.

Thanks for that, as Im finished collecting and these represent a couple of years and scrolling through around 100,000 knives on ebay, I dont mind helping with info on any on them or similar. My main objective was to get them as rare as possible with contrast in style and colour to break up the continuety this meant that they were not all going to be Schrades, thankfully most of them are.

The photos are not that hard to do either it was only a couple of years ago I used to wonder with amazement at how some of the photos of knives on ebay were done. This is the frame I used, I had to cut the cardboard insert so that they would all fit the 8x12s.
Thanks Tim

This is something ive been wanting to find out for a long time (why the handle difference) and I noticed today on ebay that the bear cult series LB7 does appear to use a different material in the handle as well as a different tang stamp. See the colour variation. I think my proto is a bank canvas for the Bear Cult series.
