hey guys,
I've been captivated by fiddleback forge the past two weeks while home recovering from an accident. I'm looking for an edc fixed blade. I've located a couple but want some opinions. My current edc is a brkt Bravo edc. I love that knife, but dislike the thickness of the blade. I want to step up to a fiddleback. Do any of you edc a bushcrafter or arête? They are beautiful. They are both a little bigger than the Bravo edc, but I hope the size isn't an issue. Would the arête be better cause of the narrower blade profile? Any advice would be appreciated. They are so difficult to find, and not being able to hold them requires advice from more experienced folks like you.
Thanks
Brent

You edc a big knife!

For me, the Esquire would be the Fiddleback EDC of choice. If you like the bravo, however, you might give the Fiddleback Recluse a look.

The Bushcrafter and Arete also seem large to me for edc. I edc Esquires, Bushboots, Babyboots, and occasionally a Hiking Buddy.

Well, it is the Bravo edc. So just a little over 7" overall. The fiddleback would be about an inch bigger. I've located a bushcrafter and an arête in configurations I like, but I'm sure by the time I'm done thinking about it, they'll both be gone!

Norest, you snuck in there before me! I'd really like a bushcrafter jr. but they're not exactly plentiful!

Here you go. Bravo edc on top, then Hiking Buddy, Esquire, Bushboot, and Babyboot.

Hiking Buddy is one of my favorites in that size. I have carried one in various different config's many times.

BC Jr if you want a little "more knife"

A number of the dealers have Fiddlebacks in stock, some of the models that you are interested. If you go to the Fiddleback Forge website, click the purchasing link, it has a list of dealers. And the flea market is a great place to pick up a catch & release or gently used Fiddleback. I have a Recluse & I really like it, but for casual or "EDC", it's a little too large for my tastes. The Bushcrafter Jr you mentioned is in stock at a couple places, but for me, as Bmurry mentioned, a 3/32 Hiking Buddy is kinda the sweet spot. I have one of those, an Esquire, & a Baby Boot on the way, so I'll also post some comparison pics when I get a chance

You guys might be right! The hiking buddy will probably be a lot more comfortable. I'd assume the patch and bushcrafter jr would work too?
I guess I'll need to learn patience.

Don't overlook then Patch, although I do not see it listed on The FF website, it falls into that 3 in category. Have a speedy and full recovery!

EDIT: Phillip in his typical quick to the draw manner beat me to it! With Pics!

That's Surls Patch or mini dropped Hunter are my regular rotations for everyday back pocket carry. For a larger blade I concur with what everybody else said. The hiking buddy is awesome. As is the handyman. For a larger blade I absolutely love my Arete, or my KEBushie.
