at the end of every month I have gotten into the habit of spending 70$ or so on something, i was going to buy a new BK-2 but the other day i saw a tiny
.22 pistol at a pawn shop. I didnt catch the brand i just glanced at it, I would rarely use either but thay are both pretty sweet, sooooo my question is which one and why?

I vote Becker

but I may be biased

Since you said the gun wont get used much, the knife would be better in light of usage.

Actually, I vote for the pistol. You could always get the Becker next month, but there is no guarantee that the pistol will be there a month later.

since when can you get a decent pistol for 70 bucks?

of what you listed i would get the becker, if i had 70 dollars to spend i would get an izula with scales and have a bit extra for next month.

even $70 for a small .22 must mean it's junk. Besides, a small .22 wont do much for plinking and certainly wont do much for personal defense. Go with the BK2

Depends on what kind of .22 it is. There are actually a lot of alright .22 pistols around in the $100 dollar range that are just fine for casual plinking. I used to browse the local pawn shops sometimes and regularly found such brands as Heritage and High Point in that price range.

If the gun is of alright quality, the bore is in good condition and the action isn't all worn out than I'd definately take the pistol over the BK2.

I was in the habit of spending $50-100 every couple of weeks on knives. Now, I save a little more(maybe $150-200), and buy something I really want, that's of higher quality , or more desireable.
I'd forget about the pea-shooter,and buy a knife you've really been eyeing for a while, but hesitated to buy because it's a little bit more.
My .02

You can't afford a cheap firearm ever - meaning you'll have to replace it with a better quality one usually adding $100+ to the purchase price of the cheapie.

OTOH, a Becker BK-2 is probably good quality right outta the gate and so is useable at the price paid.

My wonderful State is not very gun friendly, so the only time I can use one is at the range or hunting.

My appetite for guns has severly diminished because of that fact.

It takes an act of Congress to get a carry permit in MD - so yet another reason I buy knives.

I say go for the knife.

Not sure what brand / model of 22 you are looking at - but I did have a semi Beretta .22 short pistol that was a blast to shoot - however it constantly jammed after putting one or two clips worth of rounds thru it.

If you opt for the gun - is there a way to try it out first?

Voted Becker, pocket size .22 semi autos are notoriously unreliable. Especially anything you can get for $70. Save your money and buy a decent gun,if you don't want to do that, then buy the becker.

Put that towards a good revolver - not an evil-bottom-feeding pistol. My choice would be something with S$W on it... worth the wait!

A $70 pistol has got to be a piece of crap. Stay away from it!

I say get the knife, or save up a few months and get a decent gun.

I checked something else.

Save the money for several months and buy a quality .22 pistol. Those tiny ones aren't worth a damn. Saving for a good one is worthwhile and rewarding.

"Other" KA-Bar USMC Fighting Knife. Everyone should have one - because.

Besides, a small .22 wont do much for plinking and certainly wont do much for personal defense.

Beretta 21A Inox in .22LR with careful tweaking of the magazine lips will eliminate jams. Firing CCI Stingers or Aquila Super Maximums (almost 1800 FPS) the Aquilas have a concave hollow behind the bullet that causes them to flatten and punch 9mm size holes in a target!
