What to carry?

I have the hardest time deciding which knife to carry whenever I go out. If you look at my signature at the bottom of my post, you'll see which knives I have. The only big one is the BM 710 and the second biggest is the M-16. The 710 feels kinda big for going to the movies and such, but I bought it and don't want to just leave it in the knife box. For those of you who have knives about the same size as the 710, where do you carry it? I usually have 2 knives on me at any given time (excluding my SAK which is on my keys) and I almost always carry the same "combo" (both Delicas, the 710 and 705, or the Scallion and M-16/905). So basically, my 2 questions are: where do you guys put your larger folders and if anybody else has a hard time deciding what to carry. Thanks for any help you guys can give!

I carry my AFCK in my right frontside pocket. The size isn't a worry for me anymore. I'm used to it.

Sometimes I carry my G10 Police SOB though...this knife feels more comfortable that way...

I almost always carry large folders in my right front pocket, but come to think of it, that's where I carry most of my folders regardless of size. I've tried the back pocket thing, but my wallet usually gets in the way and on top of that, I don't find it to be very comfortable. My largest folder is a CRKT KFF, and it carries there no problem. I hardly even notice that it's there. I'm 6'4", so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. As for deciding which folder to carry, that's an easy choice for me: Benchmade 942-- it's been my EDC for over a year, mostly because it's one of my favorite knives ever, but also because I haven't bought that many new knives lately. Maybe you could develop a rotation of different knives, you know, one for each day of the week or something.

What's SOB? I keep reading SOB style or something along those lines and can't figure out what it is, lol.

I also find that I carry most pocket clip folders at the back part of my right front pocket (almost exclusivly jeans).

Sometimes my CRKT M16-03Z or my BM 350BT rides in RR with my wallet. I tried the Magna there and it is just MASSIVE in handle so it rides RF as well. Damn but that Magna is a BIG SOLID knife!

A dull silver clip hides best for me.

IWB at the right hip. For me a very convenient and discreet carry method, especially for bigger folders like the CUDA MAXX.

Right rear pocket against the outer seam. If you are in an area with pickpockets, this is a problem, otherwise it works well for me.

Large Sebenza or Spydero Wegner in right front pocket in denims, otheriwse IWB or cliped to belt in "Small Of Back"-

My larger folders include a large Seb, and a large BM Leopard which has relatively thick handle scales - at the same time they make it about the most comfortable folder handle I have...

Both go IWB a few inches behind my right hip. I don't carry such large folders if I'm not wearing jeans or heavier pants. If I'm in the office or more formal, I tend to go with smaller knives...

Since it's summer and hotter than hell here in So. Cal, I haven't been wearing any jeans lately, so I guess I'll have to hold off on carrying my 710 until winter rolls around or until I go camping. Right now, the material of my shorts are too light to be carrying anything big 'cause they'll sag and look all weird if I have something clipped to the pocket. I guess I'll just stick to the 705 and the other small folders. Thanks for the replies guys!

carry my EKI SOCFK/BM 806/crawford KFF/cuda maxx in my RH pants pocket 24/7/365, or the waistband of shorts when biking, no probs at all......

It varies, such as when I go to work I have my large Sebenza in my RFP, my BM 942 in my right shirt pocket, my MOD Tempest in a sheath on my right, my Dalton Companion is a sheath on my left, my Chive on my keychain, and whatever I feel like carrying in my LHP. When I'm at home in jeans and t-shirt I once again carry my Sebenza in my RHP, my ProTech in a leather half sheath on my right side and a Bali 42 in a sheath on my right...usually...

I carry all my knives in my front pocket and never know that they are there.I always carry a large knife you get used to them and feel naked without them.

I carry my BM710 and large Sebenza in my right front pocket. During the week I carry a small Classic Sebenza to work and carry the "big knives" on the weekend. I've found that once you get used to a larger knife it's not easy to down-size.

Maybe its just me,but right now I'm in swim trunks only.I have a 5 inch Voyager clipped to my right pocket and a Meercat in my left.I don't find it a problem to carry 5 inch folders so my 710 seems almost small;) ,.I carry front pockets or iwb strong side hip.

Generally, when wearing jeans, I keep my MT LCC in the horizontal sheath, as I don't like the clip, and it's just a huge knife. I've started carrying my Lg Sebenza RFpocket, lately, and find that it also will carry rather well IWB in front of right hip, even in swim shorts:D. This is the only knife I carry there, as it is the "smoothest" handled clip knife I own. I carry several knives without clips, in sheaths, or in the bottom of my pocket.

I always carry my one-hander-pocketclip-knives in my right front pocket. I'm afraid to carry it in my back pocket because the clip might damage my car seats (and because I'm a little bit paranoid that someone might snatch it from my back pocket).

Good luck,
Allen.
