Hi all,

in a few weeks my family and i are traveling to MN, we are going to have a couple days in Minneapolis i was just curious if any locals have any places they like to eat, places to go in the dead of winter etc.

also if there are any knife related places that are a must see ;) :D

thanks in advance.

You could go to REI in Bloomington. It is big and has a nice climbing wall although it is overpriced. There is this one place called Psycho Suzies and it is good although it is more of a summer joint. Other than that there aren't too many exciting things to do although we do have some good forests and such.

Hmmm, today you could help shovel and re-raise the roof in the Metrodome! ;):D

Plan a day at the Mall of America..that is a all day affair. If you have kids they can hang out all day and go on rides..roller coaster, etc.

Best breakfast place is KEYS CAFE. There are a few locations around mpls/st.Paul.

Take the family to a Wild hockey game in St.Paul..If you need help with seats send me a PM.
Take a tour of Target field..they do tours daily..
Wolves game
Gopher BB or hockey game
Take the family to Mille Lacs and go ice fishing..you can sleep in a fish house
As for knife places..it is slim picking..

thanks for the replies guys,

i was going to try out one of those juicy lucy burgers, saw it on the travel channel and looked interesting.

harleyguy02: thanks for the info! gonna have to try out "keys cafe"

Hells Kitchen downtown, click here has a great breakfast and was not too expensive a couple of years ago. I was there on a business trip.

Whenever I go places I always check the "Diners, Drive-In's and Drives" menu for some local flavor. I happen to know that there are quite a few in Minneapolis as I was recently north of there in the Iron Range(pretty but desolate).

Shopping. There are alot of good stores there and good prices (beats anything here north of the boarder), and if the weather's bad check out the Mall of America it's huge.

It's a really nice place in summer though, and one can rent Segways and go on tours with them through the city parks.
