Wow, gundude, where would I start?

First of all, have you checked the convention and visitor bureau's website? Being tourist oriented, they will have an enormous amount of information.
San Diego is one of the top tourist destinations in the United States, and the list of things to see and do here is incredible — it would probably be pages and pages long.

Just off the top of my head I would list things like Sea World, the Zoo, the Wild Animal Park, Mission Bay, Balboa Park, and the list goes on . . . and on and on.

What time of year are you coming to San Diego, and what do you like to do? As far as the tourist stuff, we probably have more in a small space than any other city in the United States, but aside from that, we have the ocean, the mountains and the desert all within a reasonable drive.

Warm up your Google-fu, and check it out online. If I can answer any questions for you, just PM me.

thanks guys, well to be honest i am not a fan of zoos/ sea world type places, but mission bay looks good for some fishing so i will have to check that out.
and i sent you a PM Bob.

I've never been to San Diego, but from what I can tell it seems to be a little Mecca for craft breweries.

a few days is so little time. if you like food and drink, the micro-brews and local wines, and more ethnic neighborhoods than one could imagine. mission bay is really packed w/ tourists this time of year. i would check out the fishing options in advance. beware of san diego's traffic. the main freeways and surface streets don't make much sense. those of us who have lived here a long time treat every trip as a kind of "work-around". if you are in to active things like golf, surfing, etc. there is just about anything you might want. i don't know your situation, but san diego is too expensive a place to have fun for those of us who live here. there are lots of services in the yellow pages and classifieds geared for people who want to get in the door "now", and they take care of it. have fun..............b

The Old Globe Theatre in Balboa Park has King Lear and The Taming of the Shrew in rep at their outdoor venue this summer.

- Sea World
- San Diego Zoo
- Balboa Park has a number of museums. Nice Air Museum.
- San Diego Wild Animal Park
- If you are into nautical and have seen the Midway Museum, try the Star of India, an iron-hulled sailing vessel.
- A place that is unique to San Diego is he Cabrillo National Monument, the old original lighthouse above the harbor. Wonderful views.

For eats:
- try the gaslamp district. Lots of bistros.
- Try the Corvette Diner. A rowdy G-rated restaurant with movie star look alikes as waiters and waitresses.
- as has been said, lots of micro-breweries
--Karl Strauss is good.
--Stone Brewery is about 75 miles away in Escondido. It's outstanding.

I'd just go to the beach but that's probably nothing new to you anyways. The Zoo is cool and so are the museums at Balboa park. Taking the bridge over to Coronado Island is pretty neat also.
