MOD IT
I hate fake knives like everyone else on this forum, but this isn't a thread about knife politics. I just wanted to share my story about my counterfeit knife and how I made it something more special.
So I received a "southard" for my b-day from my Mom earlier this month and I was under the impression that it was a legit spyderco. It came in a legit spyderco box and everything; zero blade play, rides on bearings, the whole deal..Well, sorta...
Then I came across a thread on fake spydercos and spotting the differences, and someone showed a fake southard. That's when I noticed mine was fake. So I asked my mom where she got it at and she said eBay, so we looked for the seller info but it was no longer listed...go figure
now I'm stuck with a fake southard...
My Mom didn't know, she knows nothing about knives except the fact I wanted a southard really bad. She thought it was just a good deal...for $60 lol. She now knows the truth.
But since this knife was a gift from ma, I wanted to make myself like it despite it being fake. That's when I had a vision...linen micarta
A few hours with a dremel and a drill and this is my results. The cool thing, is when I get a real southard I can just put these on there!!! That's partially why I did this, so don't think I'm over here worshiping this fake knife lol. I just really like the results a whole lot and wanted to share here.
So if you end up with a fake somehow, don't throw it into the pits of hell! Mod it, then buy the real deal. It's really good practice and you don't have to feel bad about ruining a genuine spyderco.
Thanks guys,
Just don't kill me for having a fake
...This was just for fun
