Is there any suggestion on what I could do with my broken blade?

you could post a couple of pictures and explain how or why it's now in a broken state.
unless anyone sees the extend of the damage
i m guessing that it would be pretty hard to figure out what comes next...
the bin or the a grinder???

Looks like you could just grind down where it broke and drill another hole run the bolt or new rivet through that. That thing IMHO is not safe. I think I would just lash it to a stick yell "SPARTA" and go looking for a pig to stick. :D

Yes, but it will be painful.

:) We have all (or most of us have) bought crappy/cheap knives at one time or other. We all live and learn.

Throw out the Aitor and buy a better quality knife. Look into ESEE, Becker, Entrek and up.

If you are really into the hollow handle 'Rambo' knife look, let us know; there are far better quality knives out there from well known custom makers albeit in a very different price bracket.

Tell us what you want to go for. We like knives:cool:

I'm not sure what happened to the link. I'm new and I'm still trying to figure out the best way to post an image. I see that 100eyes was able to bring it up??

I bought the knife in 1991. I think I paid over 200.00 buck for it. At the time I knew less about knives and thought I was getting a good one.

Since I bought the knife it's been used very little. Last weekend I trying splitting a small log for fire wood. After a few taps the knife broke. I'm glad the knife broke a home and not in the woods. Luckily I have an ESEE 3 and a ka bar for back up.

Yikes! Did you try to baton with the tip of the blade higher than the handle? That can put enormous stress near where the blade joins the handle of a knife. Can break any knife.

Since, for that Aitor "survival" knife, the point where the blade joins the handle is the narrowest part of the blade (and has a hole in the middle!!!), failure was unavoidable, even without having batonned. Slicing a tomato might have broke that sucker.

What to do with it now? Duct tape it back together and dress up as Rambo for Halloween? :D

Live and learn I guess!
